KALAMATA

Later you will descend to the Ypapantis square with the homonymous impressive temple with silver domes, the Diocese of Kalamata; somewhere here delineated the historic city center including the Ypapantis square, the Sparta street and the 25th March square.
Just across the temple you will see the Military Museum and the Folk Art museum; the building with the bluish doors and windows in Saint John street. From the temple you will be redirected to the other church-registered mark of the city, the Holy Apostles. In these streets aromas will surround you as all around are hosted coffee shops, traditional cafes and bakeries.
In the Paplomatadika district and Amfias Square you will find the busy trends hangouts of the youth. Furthermore you must definitely walk in the Aristomenous street, that starts from 25th March street and ends at the beach. Also do not forget to walk along the beautiful harbor and visit the Railway Museum of Kalamata, which is a pioneer of its kind in Greece.
ANO VERGA
Ano Verga is located in the first peak of mountain Taygetos at 1000 meters altitude and is two kilometers away from the sea. The view from this picturesque village is breathtaking, and because of the altitude the temperatures is cool even in the summer heat.
Moreover this beautiful village is a famous crossing point for many hiking trails. And for those who like action and adrenaline, it gives the option of paragliding and parapente. The taking of is happening from a slope of the village and the landing is on the beach in Kalamata.

Located in about 20 km away from the famous tourist towns of Kardamyli, Stoupa and Agios Nikolaos you have the perfect option for a small trip. Furthermore Messinia is full of picturesque small coastal towns, such as Pylos, Koroni, Methoni, Finikounda, Kyparissia; and archaeological sites, such as Ancient Messini, an ancient town with stage theater, baths and a market.
